A local couple is safe after being trapped in a Mumbai, India, hotel during a terrorist attack earlier this week.

Geraldine and William Stadelmann of Brockton were in their room at the Taj Mahal hotel when terrorists attacked, according to their daughter, Kristin Stadelmann of Boston.

William Stadelmann, 66, called his daughter within the hour after the attack and sent e-mails throughout the night, she said.

He and and wife, Geraldine, 65, had just completed a four-week tour of the region.

The Stadelmanns are life-long city residents. He owns Stadelmann Electric Contractors Inc. They have five children and four grandchildren.
