Coming off arguably the best season in program history on the ice, the Bentley University hockey team also performed well in the classroom this past year as 16 players were named to the annual Atlantic Hockey All-Academic team, the league announced on Wednesday.

Of the 16 players, seven are repeat honorees from a year ago and nine are first-time selections. Former players Anthony Canzoneri and Dain Prewitt highlight the list as they were named All-Academic for the fourth consecutive year.

Junior Anders Olson made the team for the third straight year. Former Falcon Jeff Gumaer earned a second straight selection, as did sophomores Joe Calvi, Brandon Graffunder and Jeremy Robert.

The first-time honorees were former players Nick Moise and Casey Russell, sophomore Justin Kemmerer and freshmen Trent Bonnett, Jamie Nudy, Tyler Quartuccio, Kyle Rank, Aaron Stonacek and Mike Switzer.

Bentley's 16 selections are fourth most behind RIT's 22 and AIC's and Canisius' 18.
To qualify for the team, a player must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher during both semesters.
