Men's Hockey
Falcons sweep Canisius
Senior Dain Prewitt scored the game-winning, power-play goal with 5:39 left in third period and sent Bentley University to a 4-3 win over Canisius Saturday night at the Amherst Pepsi Center in Atlantic Hockey play.
The Falcons went 4-0 against the Golden Griffins this season and completed the weekend sweep with Saturday night's win, which followed an 8-3 victory on Friday night.
On Saturday night, with the score tied at three and the Falcons on the power play, Prewitt took a pass from senior Jeff Gumaer, skated in on net and beat Canisius goalie Andrew Loewen with a shot to the glove side for the winning goal. Canisius pulled Loewen in the game's waning moments but the Falcons were able to hold on for the win, improving their record to 8-10-1 overall and 7-6-1 in the AHA.
On Friday night, sophomore Dustin Cloutier recorded the first hat trick by a Bentley player in nearly a year in the win. All of his goals were on the power play. Cloutier added two assists for a career high five points.
The Falcons are back in action Wednesday night for an AHA contest against UConn in Storrs, Conn. Face-off is 7:05 p.m.
