Man arrested on warrant charges

WALTHAM - Amy Coppola, 39, of 32 Washington Ave., was arrested Sunday at 9:20 p.m. at Moody and Orange streets, on two Waltham District Court warrants - driving with a suspended license and driving without insurance, police said.

Newton man arrested on warrant charge

WALTHAM - A Newton man was arrested Sunday at 7:36 p.m. at Hannaford's supermarket on Russell Street on warrants, police said.

Matthew Carey, 22, 3 Crescent St., Newton, had warrants from Newton District Court for keeping a noisy and disorderly house, police said.

Man charged with assault

WALTHAM - A Waltham man who held a stick over a woman after he pushed her, police said, was arrested Sunday on Willow Street at 5:07 p.m.

Vitul Chopra, 34, of 174 Newton St., was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (stick), police said.

Marlborough man charged with assault

WALTHAM - A Marlborough man was arrested Sunday at 3;58 p.m. after police said he struck a woman during an argument at 34 Hanson Road #E.

Meahdi Zaedi, 22, of 24 Cross St., was charged with assault and battery, police said.

The woman had a swollen left eye and scrapes on her arms, police said.

Man charged with assault on an officer

WALTHAM - A man who was being arrested for a warrant Saturday at 1:43 a.m. had charges added when he refused to be handcuffed, police said.

Police said they attempted to place the suspect into custody at the parking lot at 130 Lexington St. when an officer was kicked.

Giulianny Lopez, 63, of 327 North Harvard St., Allston, was charged with two warrants out of Waltham District Court - assault and battery and threatening to commit a crime - and assault and battery on a police officer and resisting arrest.

Woman charged with assault

WALTHAM - A woman who hit her boyfriend with her car was arrested Friday at 10:13 p.m., police said. The suspect and her boyfriend were in an argument at 45 Pond St. #6 when she tried to leave, police said. Her boyfriend got in the way of the car, which scraped his knee, police said.

Crystal Johnson, 19, of 45 Pond St. #6, was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (car).

Police: Son punched his father

WALTHAM - A Billerica teen was arrested Friday and charged with punching his father in the face at 47 Bacon St., police said.

Kevin Babineau, 17, of 602 Middlesex Turnpike, Billerica, was charged with assault and battery around 7:05 p.m., police said.

Man charged with assault

WALTHAM - A Saugus man was arrested Friday at 10:50 a.m. after police handled a call about a couple arguing on Prospect Street.

Police determined that a woman had been struck. The suspect had left the premises by the time police arrived, but was found a short distance away.

Angelo Trinidad, 39, 9 Perullo Lane, was charged with assault and battery, police said.

Man charged with breaking and entering

WALTHAM - A Willow Street man was arrested Friday at 12:47 a.m. after police heard a car alarm go off in the parking garage at 30 Lexington St.

When police arrived they said they saw the suspect rummaging around in the glove box of a car that did not belong to him.

Robert Alvarado, 18, of 173 Willow St., was charged with breaking and entering a motor vehicle, police said.

Man faces driving charge

WALTHAM - Rony Valenzuela, 31, 18 Felton St., was charged Thursday at 8:40 with driving on a suspended license, police said.

Man charged with destruction of property

NEWTON - Nader Moghadam, 21, of 99 Sumner St., was arrested Saturday at 2 p.m. on Chestnut Street and charged with an attempt to commit a crime and malicious destruction of property over $250, police said.
