Ashland man faces license violation
NEWTON - Marcio Schiavo Simoes, 31, of 4-2 Eliot St., Ashland, was arrested yesterday at 2:12 a.m. and charged with driving without a license, according to police.
Cops charge woman with assault
NEWTON - Lisa M. Conti, 41, of 19 Putnam St., Apt. 1, was arrested and charged with assault and battery Wednesday at 8:37 p.m., police said.
Homeless man faces charges
NEWTON - A homeless man who was knocking on doors was arrested Wednesday in front of 300 Homer St., police said.
According to police, who were called by a resident on Greenlawn Avenue who said someone knocked on the door, the suspect said he was selling items to help pay for college.
Ronald William Stevens, 24, homeless, was charged with peddling without a license, police said.
Woman arrested on five warrants
NEWTON - Michelle Connolly, 21, 8 River St., was arrested Wednesday on five default warrants: One out of Newton District Court for forgery of a check and larceny over $250; a default warrant for forgery of a document; a default warrant for possession of a Class A substance; one out of Waltham District Court for shoplifting; and another out of West Roxbury District Court for being present where heroin is kept, receiving stolen property over $250, and forging/misusing an RMV document, police said.
Cops charge man with ID theft
NEWTON - Police said they arrested a man for identity theft after they were called to Visiting Angels, 1254 Chestnut St., on Tuesday at 3:07 p.m.
A person at Visiting Angels suspected the person they interviewed on June 23 and had been there on Tuesday, was not the person in his IDs. Police determined he had stolen the identification.
Julius A. Murinzi, 27, was charged with identity theft and forgery of a document.
