Police arrest man on driving charge
NEWTON - A 23-year-old Newton man was arrested after being pulled over on Bridge Street on Monday at 9 p.m..
Hovannes Mikaelyan, of 214 Washington St., was charged with driving with a revoked license, police said.
Man charged with using fake bill
NEWTON - A 24-year-old homeless Roxbury woman was arrested on Rte. 9 following a report of a customer at the Elliot Street Sunoco trying to pass a counterfeit $20 bill at 2:26 p.m. Monday, police said.
Johnathan M. Jones, homeless, was charged with uttering a counterfeit note, police said.
Police arrest youth on warrants
NEWTON - A Newton juvenile was arrested on Austin Street on five warrants Friday at 4 p.m..
He was arrested on two warrants for assault and battery to intimidate, two warrants for assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon and a warrant for assault to intimidate, police said.
Man accused of assault
NEWTON- A 22-year-old homeless man was arrested at 8 p.m. on Sunday, police said.
Joseph Sarcione was charged with assault and battery and indecent assault and battery on a person 14 or over, police said.
Man charged with violating order
NEWTON - A 20-year-old Newton man was arrested at his Elliot Place home on Sunday.
Juan Miguel Gonazalez, of 28 Elliot Place, was charged with violating an abuse-prevention order, police said.
Man arrested on assault charge
NEWTON - A 62-year-old Newton man was arrested at his home on Langley Road on Saturday.
George Roger Freeman Jr., of 390 Langley Road, was charged with domestic assault and battery, threatening to commit a crime and intimidating a witness, police said.
