Man charged with assault
NEWTON - A Newton man was arrested Thursday afternoon after he threatened a woman with a knife, said police.
At 4:52 p.m., Anthony Wright, 37, of 160 Boylston St., was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, a knife, and assault and battery.
Police did not provide any more information about the domestic incident.
Newton woman charged with driving violations
NEWTON - A Newton woman was arrested on Chestnut Street Thursday night, said police.
At 10:18 p.m., Maria Guevera, 23, of 262 Derby St., was charged with the driving without a license, police said.
Police said Guevera was driving erratically. She was also cited for failure to stay in marked lanes and having defective equipment - a broken taillight.
Newton man arrested on warrant
NEWTON - A local man was arrested early Friday morning after police say he made a U-turn on Adams Street.
Christopher Cowles, 37, of 19 Quirk Court, Newton was arrested at 1:08 a.m. on a warrant from Malden District Court, police said.
According to police reports, Cowles refused to leave his car when asked by police and repeatedly turned away from officers when they tried to handcuff him.
He was subsequently charged with resisting arrest, said police.
Police: Waltham man turned himself in
WALTHAM - A local man turned himself in on a Taunton District Court warrant Friday afternoon, said police.
At 4:12 p.m., Marc Fevry, 22, of 166 Ash St., Waltham, was arrested, said police.
The warrant charges Fevry with driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle and driving with a suspended registration, police said.
Waltham man faces drug charges
WALTHAM - A Waltham man was arrested on a federal warrant Friday, said police.
Accompanied by two FBI agents, police arrested Akhil Baranwall, 34, of 60 Hope Ave., Apt. 623 in his home.
The federal warrant charges Baranwall with conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance and distribution of prescription drugs, said police.
Baranwall was arrested at 6:39 p.m.
He was booked at the Waltham Police headquarters and then turned over to the custody of the FBI, said police.
Waltham man arrested on warrant
WALTHAM - A Waltham man was arrested on a warrant Saturday night, said police.
At 7:28 p.m., Jeffrey Macleod, 26, of 1 Norumbega Terrace, was arrested on Alder Street, police said.
A Waltham District Court warrant charges Macleod with burglary, breaking glass in a building, disturbing the peace, trespassing and larceny over $250, said police.
Woman charged with OUI
WALTHAM - After a car accident at the intersection of Main and Lexington streets early Sunday morning, a woman was arrested and charged with drunken driving, police said.
At 12:32 a.m., Katelin Bandarra, 23, of 285 Highhill Road, North Dartmouth, was arrested.
Police say Bandarra's vehicle rear-ended another car that was stopped at a red light.
Bandarra was also charged with failure to use care when stopping and having an expired inspection sticker, said police.
Man charged with driving offenses
WALTHAM - A local man was arrested after police say he was squealing his tires while pulling out of Burger King on Moody Street.
On Sunday at 2:23 a.m., Henry Pena, 20, of 49 Derby St., Waltham, was arrested.
Police said Pena was charged with driving after a license suspension, driving to endanger and making offensive and unreasonable noise.
Waltham man charged with OUI
WALTHAM - A Waltham man was arrested after police say he was driving erratically on Prospect Street early Sunday morning.
At 2:34 a.m., Alexei Frisman, 36, of 5 Highland St., was arrested.
Frisman was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, a marked lanes violation, negligent driving and driving with a suspended license, said police.
Bedford man charged with shoplifting
WALTHAM - A Bedford man was arrested and charged with shoplifting from Home Depot Sunday afternoon, said police.
Andrew Martines, 20, of 6 Hill Road, allegedly stuffed the drawers of a bathroom vanity full of copper wire, said police.
Martines then tried to purchase the vanity after taping the doors closed with duct tape he did not pay for from the store, said police.
In all, Martines attempted to steal $813.66 worth of wiring and a roll of duct tape, police said.
He was charged with larceny over $250, said police.
Martines was arrested at 2:21 p.m.
Police: Natick man exposed his buttocks to girl, 5
WALTHAM - A Natick man was arrested after police say he exposed his buttocks to a 5-year-old girl Sunday afternoon.
At 2:37 p.m., Jeffrey Olivier, 20, of 71B Kendell Lane, was arrested.
Police say he dropped his pants at a Bacon Street home.
Olivier was charged with open and gross lewdness.
Waltham woman charged with OUI
WALTHAM - A Waltham woman was arrested early yesterday morning after a patrol officer saw her driving erratically on Moody Street, said police.
At 12:46 a.m., Rebecca Kiwanuka, 50, of 16 Garden Lane, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, having an open container of alcohol in the vehicle and a marked lanes violation, said police.
Kiwanuka was arrested on Central Street.
Newton teen arrested on warrant
NEWTON - A 14-year-old Newton boy was arrested on a child in need of services warrant Monday morning.
At 6:45 a.m., police arrested the boy in his Wilson Circle home.
According to reports, the boy had run away from a Department of Social Services facility.
Police did not release the boy's name because he is a juvenile.
