When folks tune in to a City Council meeting to see a matter discussed, often those talks are brief.
That's because the bulk of the discussion on such items has already taken place in the council's committee meetings, which, unlike the regular City Council meetings, are not televised by Waltham Community Access.
Ward 4 City Councilor Thomas Curtin wants to change that. Through a resolution to the council, Curtin asked that the council express its desire to have those meetings aired to show the public where the ``yeoman's work of what we do is actually done.''
He also asked that officials with the community access channel meet with councilors to come up with a plan to televise the committee meetings.
The channel did televise at least two committee meetings last September - the Long term Debt and Ordinance and Rules committees - but has not broadcast committee meetings since that time.
Ward 3 Councilor George Darcy III said he was in favor of Curtin's resolution and asked to co-sign the request.
The resolution will be further discussed in the Committee of the Whole.
