All four Democrats running for U.S. Senate have agreed to a live TV debate Tuesday, Dec. 1 on Channel 5.

The debate, co-sponsored by GateHouse Media and WCVB-TV, will be moderated by anchorman Ed Harding and is scheduled to run from 7 to 8 p.m.

The four Democrats running for the seat long held by Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, are U.S. Rep. Michael Capuano, Attorney General Martha Coakley, City Year co-founder Alan Khazei and Boston Celtics co-owner Stephen Pagliuca. The winner of the Dec. 8 primary will face either Republican state Sen. Scott Brown of Wrentham or businessman Jack E. Robinson in a January special election to fill the U.S. Senate seat.

The Dec. 1 TV debate will feature WCVB political reporter Janet Wu and a journalist from GateHouse Media / WickedLocal posing questions to the four Democrats.

The program will be simulcast to viewers in western Massachusetts on WWLP.
