An album release party for a local musician ended in a double stabbing early yesterday morning, police said.

At approximately 1 a.m., two men were stabbed by two other men outside 900 Boylston St., Lt. Bob Donovan said.

Police did not release the victims names. Both men were taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.

As of press time, one of the stabbing victims remained in intensive care but, according to Donovan, is expected to survive. The other victim had been released.

According to police report, party-goers scattered when police arrived and those who remained offered little details about the suspects, said Donovan.

Based on witness reports, Newton Police are searching for two men of Cape Verdean descent.

One suspect is described as a black man of medium build, between the ages of 20 and 24. At about 6-feet, 2-inches tall, the suspect was seen wearing a multicolored baseball, with possibly a Red Sox logo, and a flat brim. He was also wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.

The second suspect, also described as a black man approximately 6-feet tall, was wearing a Charlotte Hornets hat and a yellow and white hooded sweatshirt.

Witnesses reported both men fled the area on Rte. 9 eastbound in an older model black Nissan Maxima.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the Newton Police Department's Detective Bureau at 617-796-2104 or the anonymous tip line at 617-796-2121.
