Hovey Players continues its 74th theatrical season with performances of the heartfelt comedy, ``The Real Thing,''by playwright Tom Stoppard. ``The Real Thing'' examines the difficulties and rewards of finding and sustaining love and commitment, as well as challenging our very notions about what is real. Waltham Mills Artists Association celebrates its 33rd annual Open Studios at the historic mill buildings, 144 Moody St., on Saturday, Nov. 7, noon to 6 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 8, noon to 5 p.m. The work of more than 70 artists will be on display - paintings, sculpture, wood-works, collages, ceramics, glass-works, prints, textiles, photography and jewelry. PIE IN THE SKY, Funds programs for ill
Pie in the Sky, sponsored by Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage and Digitas, is Community Servings' annual Thanksgiving bake sale which helps fund meals and nutrition programs for the critically-ill. Now in its 17th year, Pie in the Sky involves more than 150 of Greater Boston's best chefs and over 400 volunteers donating their time, talent and resources to bake and sell the freshest and finest Thanksgiving pies. From October through Thanksgiving, sellers promote the sale and take pie orders. Each pie costs $25. There are pick-up sites at Coldwell Banker, 702 Main St., Waltham, and Coldwell Banker Newton, 1261 Centre St.
