OUR LADY'S SCHOOL, Breakfast With Santa
Our Lady's School, 920 Trapelo Road., will be holding its annual Breakfast With Santa on Sunday, Dec. 7, 9 a.m. to noon. The event will include pancake breakfast, professional Santa photos, face painting and more. The cost is $7 per person, children under 2 are free. Reservations are required.

THE CAT CONNECTION, Seeks volunteers
The Cat Connection, a group of volunteers that helps control the feral cat population through the TNRF process (trap/neuter/return/feed), is seeking volunteers to feed cats and build and place warm shelters and feeding stations in the area for their protection from the elements. The time commitment is only 15-30 minutes one time a week.

REAGLE PLAYERS CAMPS, Scholarship auditions
Reagle Players seeks scholarship candidates for its February and April educational theater camps, as well as the 2009 Musical Theatre Camp in July. The scholarships are aimed at supporting young people ages 8-16. Auditions will be held at Waltham High School's Robinson Theater, 617 Lexington St., on Thursday, Dec. 4, 4:30 to 6 p.m. (for ages 12-16), and Friday, Dec. 5 (for ages 8-11), 4 to 6 p.m.
Applicants may sing a song, dance, perform a monologue or prepare something in combination which reveals potential or displays accomplished performance skills. A piano accompanist will be provided and a CD player will be availablefor use. Where applicable, candidates may also bring a letter stating their need.

OASIS COFFEEHOUSE, Duo plays Dec. 5
Bird Mancini and Salvatore Baglio play at The Oasis Coffeehouse on Friday, Dec. 5, 7:30 p.m. The Oasis Coffeehouse, 34 Alder St., Waltham, is a not-for-profit coffeehouserun by volunteers from the First Presbyterian Church where it is housed, and provides a safe, inclusive and alcohol-free environment where all ages can enjoy live music, fair-trade coffee and tea, home-baked goods, and free Wi-Fi. Admission is $12, $10 students/seniors, $8 for Brandeis/Bentley students and faculty.

CHORAL PARENTS, Christmas tree sale
The Waltham Choral Parents are having a Christmas tree sale, to support the Show Choirs and Show Band, on Saturday, Dec. 6, and Sunday, Dec. 9, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., at Frank's Auto Repair, 140 Bacon St. Cost is $25.

HOLIDAY PRELUDE, Downtown on Dec. 6
Businesses in downtown Waltham will host the inaugural Holiday Prelude during business hours Saturday, Dec. 6. Many businesses will be offering discounts, free raffles, food and beverage tastings and special events. Their windows will also be decorated and automatically entered into the Holiday Prelude Window Decorating Contest.
Santa and Mayor Jeannette McCarthy will arrive at the Visitors Center, 35 Carter St., at noon where children and their families may board the trolley for a ride through the downtown area. Children are also invited to bring their letters and wish list to Santa.

GORE PLACE, Jane Austen Tea
Gore Place, 52 Gore St., is offering, A Jane Austen Holiday Tea & Tour, on Fridays, Dec. 5 and 12, and Saturdays, Dec. 6 and 13. The Great Hall will be transformed into a 19th century tea room offering an authentic English tea of scones, sweets and savory sandwiches. Following the tea, guests will tour the mansion led by a guide in period costume using English author Jane Austen's wonderful words to describe Gore's home and gracious lifestyle in the early 19th century. Seatings are 1, 2:30 and 4 p.m.
In addition, there will be a Children's Tea on Saturday, Dec. 6 and 13, 10:30 a.m. The children's tea will feature a special children's menu and entertainments.

LASELL COLLEGE, Winter Coat Jubilee
Cradles to Crayons, a Boston-area nonprofit, and Lasell College team up for its first Winter Coat Jubilee on Sunday, Dec. 7, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at DeWitt Hall, Lasell College, 80 Maple St. There will be a collection of coats for needy kids in the Boston area with fun family activities for kids of all ages, including music, face painting and games. Admission is a winter coat for children up to 12 years old, or a monetary donation.

CRAFTS AND CAROLS, Make ornaments and Christmas cards
Crafts and Carols Party at Eliot Church, 474 Centre St., is Sunday, Dec. 7, 3 to 5 p.m. Make Christmas ornaments, build an advent wreath, design homemade Christmas cards and sing Christmas carols. The event is free, but donations will be accepted to cover costs of materials.

HOME FOR OUR TROOPS, Donate at Newton malls
Atrium Mall and the Mall at Chestnut Hill invite shoppers to help Homes for Our Troops, an organization that remodels or builds homes for soldiers returning from Iraq that have sustained severe injuries. The Giving Tree at both malls Nov. 28-Dec. 24 is a tool to show customers where their generous donations will be distributed. Something as small as a $50 donation can purchase a special faucet or a more substantial donation of $100 can help purchase an elevator.

CANCER SOCIETY, Look Good ... Feel Better
The American Cancer Society will hold a Look Good ... Feel Better session Tuesday, Dec. 9, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at the Wellness Community Center, 1039 Chestnut St. Look Good ... Feel Better is a free program that teaches cancer patients hands-on cosmetic techniques to help them cope with appearance-related side effects from chemotherapy or radiation treatments. Wig care, scarf and hat use, skin care and nail care will all be discussed, and all participants will receive a free makeup kit. Cosmetologists certified and trained by the American Cancer Society will conduct the session, which is non-medical and does not promote any product line.

WEST SUBURBAN YMCA, Winter sports
Registration for West Suburban YMCA's winter sports programs is currently open. Children and adults can begin the winter season with YBA, the Y's basketball league and our men and women's leagues, swimming, and as winter continues, children can also participate in youth soccer, floor hockey, and track. The Y also offers Super Sports and Adventure Programs during Winter School Vacation Week, Dec. 22-23, and Friday, Jan. 2.

BRIMMER AND MAY, Middle school play
Brimmer and May School Middle School production, ``There's a Boy in the Girl's Bathroom!,'' is Wednesday, Dec. 3, 7 p.m., and Thursday, Dec. 4, 5:30 p.m., in Corkin Theatre, Chase Building, 60 Middlesex Road. The comedy is about the trials and tribulations of adolescent life.
