RELAY FOR LIFE, Registration ongoing
The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Waltham-Lexington is May 16, 6 p.m., to May 17, 10 a.m., at Cornelia Warren Field. This celebration of life brings the community together in a unified effort to fight cancer. Relay For Life is a family-oriented event where participants enjoy the camaraderie of a team and also raise funds to support the activities of the American Cancer Society. Participants camp out at the Relay site, and when they are not taking their turn walking, they take part in fun activities and enjoy local entertainment.

EVERCARE HOSPICE, Volunteers sought
Evercare Hospice, 950 Winter St., is looking for ordinary people with caring hearts. Assignments include friendly visits and simple tasks that comfort patients and family members facing end of life issues. Inspiring, comprehensive training provided. LEGION BAND, First of 4 concerts
The Waltham American Legion Band will have the first of four 60th Anniversary Celebration Concerts on Monday, May 19, 7 to 9 p.m., at American Legion Post 156, 215 Waverley Oaks Road. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted. The band will perform patriotic hits, marches, WWII songs and Broadway hits. Refreshments and cash bar will be available.

The Newton Parks and Recreation Commission is seeking nominations for the thirtieth annual Youth Service Awards.
