AARP, Holiday Party
The Waltham/Watertown/Belmont chapter 3809 of AARP, an advocacy group for those over 50, will hold its annual Holiday Party on Monday, Dec. 7, noon, at the Joseph F. Hill American Legion Hall 156, 215 Waverley Oaks Road. A complete chicken dinner will be served followed by entertainment by the Waltham High School Show Choir. Tickets are $20, available to year 2009 paid-up members, until the Nov. 27 cutoff date.

ROSEWOOD DRIVE, Public, not private, way
The city of Waltham Consolidated Public Works Department announced that Rosewood Drive is a public way and not private, as thought to be due to a ``Private Way'' sign. By action of City Council on Feb. 15, 1966, the entire length of the street was deemed a public way. And, the CPW plans on paving it as a public way.

AARP, Wined & Dined in 1809
Gore Place, 52 Gore St., offers a special evening tour, Not Another Bite! Wined & Dined in 1809, on Friday, Nov. 27, 7 p.m. If you think you had a big meal on Thanksgiving Day, just wait until you see how people entertained in the time of Christopher and Rebecca Gore. PERRY TAE KWON DO, Perry's Turky Brigade
Perry Tae Kwon Do again will assist 40 needy families with Perry's Turkey Brigade. Students and their families and friends and will assist 40 needy families with a Thanksgiving meal. Volunteers will prepare, package and deliver complete, uncooked turkey dinners to families in the area. The packages will include a 10-pound partially thawed turkey, potatoes, yams, vegetables, breads, cranberry sauce, dessert, and an oven pan to be used to cook the feast.

PIE IN THE SKY, Funds programs for ill
Pie in the Sky, sponsored by Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage and Digitas, is Community Servings' annual Thanksgiving bake sale which helps fund meals and nutrition programs for the critically-ill. Now in its 17th year, Pie in the Sky involves more than 150 of Greater Boston's best chefs and over 400 volunteers donating their time, talent and resources to bake and sell the freshest and finest Thanksgiving pies. From October through Thanksgiving, sellers promote the sale and take pie orders. Each pie costs $25. There are pick-up sites at Coldwell Banker, 702 Main St., Waltham, and Coldwell Banker Newton, 1261 Centre St.
