ENDOMETRIOSIS, Support group meeting May 7
Endometriosis - a sometimes painful and debilitating disease affecting women during the child-bearing years, is relatively unknown, but there is now help with a support and informational group.

TAG SALE, Spaces available
Sacred Heart Parish, 311 River Street, is having a tag sale in the parking lot of the church on Saturday, May 31, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The rain date is Sunday, June 1. If you are interested renting a space to sell your items, spaces are available for $50, which will includes a table. There will also be a parish bake sale, raffle and much more. Admission to the tag sale is free and shoppers who bring non-perishable food items for the Sacred Heart Food Pantry will receive a free raffle ticket.
A charitable organization will be on hand at the end of the tag sale to collect donations from any renters who do not wish to bring their items back home. Those who wish to donate their items to the charitable organization must be there at the close of the tag sale to help load items onto the truck.

SENIOR CENTER, Choral group
The Waltham Council on Aging is looking for a volunteer to start a choral group at the Stanley Senior Center. Practice will be held during the day. Call Marybeth Duffy at 781-314-3497.

BOSTON BAKES, Deserts for breast cancer
Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer is a sweet and delicious way to raise ``dough'' to battle breast cancer. More than 100 restaurants and bakeries in the Boston area, including Il Capriccio and Tempo in Waltham, Not Your Average Joe's in Watertown, and Aquitane Bis, Kouzina, Legal Sea Foods, Lumiere and Metropolitan Club in Newton, will bake unique desserts the week leading up to Mother's Day, May 5-11.

SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA, Inaugural concert
The new Waltham Symphony Orchestra will debut on Saturday, May 10, 8 p.m., at Kennedy Middle School, 75 Church St. Maestri Patrick Botti leads the orchestra with a Mother's Day show by offering free admission to mothers and grandmothers. The inaugural concert will feature works by Mozart, Brahms, Ravel, D'Indy and Daniel-Lesur. The new orchestra is community based, focused on excellence in classical repertoire, as well as diverse musical offerings reflecting the vibrant multi-cultural life of the city of Waltham. Cost is $20, $15 for students and seniors. Tickets available at the door.

POSTAL CARRIERS, Collecting food
The NALC (National Association of Letter Carriers) along with USPS, AFL-CIO, United Way of Mass Bay, America's Second Harvest, Campbell's, Project Bread, the American Red Cross, and the Greater Boston Food Bank, will try to ``Stamp Out Hunger'' then carriers will pick up non-perishable food left at mailboxes on Saturday, May 10 and deliver it to local food pantries.

INTERNATIONAL PARTY, In Watertown
International Dance Party for youth Saturday, May 10, 8 p.m., at the Armenian Cultural and Educational Center, 47 Nichols Ave., Watertown. Two DJ's will play an array of international party music from House, Techno, and Dance to Armenian, Arabic, Greek, Latin and Persian for dance lovers 18 years old and up. Tickets are $15, $20 at the door.

YOUTH SERVICES AWARD, Nominations sought
The Newton Parks and Recreation Commission is seeking nominations for the thirtieth annual Youth Service Awards. Each year, awards are given to individuals who have contributed service to young people, youth programs or the Newton Community. Submit nominations of deserving Newton residents before May 23.

NCSC, Day camp in Westwood
Newton Community Service Center hosts a day camp featuring boating, Red Cross swim lessons, arts and crafts, fishing, archery, ropes challenge course, nature activities, sports, cookouts, special events, overnights and more, at Hale Reservation in Westwood. Camp runs June 23-Aug. 22. The cost for a two-week session is $540.

GARDEN MARKET, At City Hall
The Newton Garden Market, on the lawn at City Hall, 1000 Commonwealth Ave., is Saturday, May 10, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Presented by the Newton Pride Committee, there will be thousands of New England grown plants, including perennials, annuals, shrubs and herbs. There will be free demonstrations on current gardening trends and questions answered by master gardeners. There will also be raffles.

CIRCLE OF HOSPICE, Volunteers sought
Circle of Caring Hospice of the Good Shepherd, 2042 Beacon St., a non-sectarian, non-profit home care agency serving Newton, Wellesley, Brookline and the surrounding communities since 1978, is seeking volunteers to make home visits and to help in the office. Care is provided to individuals in their own homes and in nursing homes. A total of six training sessions is mandatory.
