SPRINGWELL, Caregiver's guide workshop
Are you overwhelmed with the paperwork associated with caring for your aging parent? Do you want to get organized, but don't know where to start? Let Springwell help you with its new Caregiver's Notebook: A Guide for Organizing and Record Keeping. There will be a free workshop at the Waltham Public Library Trustee Room, 735 Main St., on Tuesday, July 22, 6 to 7:30 p.m. Each attendee will receive a complimentary Caregiver's Notebook. Family caregivers will also be able to schedule follow-up support sessions with Springwell's caregiver advisor.
Any family caregivers who are interested in the Caregiver's Notebook but is unable to attend can call Springwell's Information & Referral Department and ask for a referral to the Caregiver Program.

WORLD SERIES TROPHIES, On display during concert
The Boston Red Sox 2008 World Championship Trophy tour, sponsored by the Massachusetts State Lottery, will be in Waltham on Tuesday, July 15, 5:30 to 8 p.m., on Waltham Common during the Concerts on the Common. After the World Series victory in 2004, the Red Sox shared the triumph with their fan base by taking the World Championship Trophy to different cities and towns throughout Red Sox Nation for public viewings. The team continues the tradition after the win in 2007, bringing both the 2004 and 2007 World Series Trophies to a public facility in Waltham.

ESSAY CONTEST, Still time to enter
There is still time to enter Waltham's History-The Nation's History essay contest. This contest is offered to encourage young people to explore local history and visit the city's treasures. Students in grades 4-8 in September 2008 are eligible. Students must use at least two of Waltham's historic resources. All historic organizations will offer free admission to participating students and their family members through Aug. 4. Prizes will be awarded.

GORE PLACE, Boston Chamber Ensemble
Gore Place will present a concert by The Boston Chamber Ensemble, featuring music from the world of Jane Austen arranged for flute and strings, on Wednesday, July 16, 7 p.m. The program is designed to compliment the Jane Austen Tours at Gore Place July 18-20. The concert takes place in the 1793 carriage house on the Governor Gore estate. Admission is $15, $10 for Gore Place members.

Waltham Land Trust and Hardy Pond Association present On Hardy Pond, a free picnic and boating event with fun for the whole family, Saturday, July 19, 5 to 9 p.m., at Lazazzero Park, 7 Shore Road. RUNNER'S WORKSHOP, At Newton-Wellesley Hospital
Do you want to start running? Are you getting ready for your first race? Do you want to improve your performance? CHIME CONCERT, 3 summer dates
Three concerts are scheduled for summer 2008 on the 11 bell chime of the First Unitarian Society, 1326 Washington St. The final two concerts are July 15 and Aug. 9, 7 to 7:45 p.m. The public is invited to bring lawn chairs, blankets and picnic suppers to the church grounds. Both the July 15 and Aug. 19 concerts will feature local chimers Luca Antonucci and Bob Feldman. The pair regularly play the West Newton chime on Sunday mornings and performed last summer's concert series.
