September events at the Waltham Council on Aging, W.F. Stanley Senior Center, 488 Main St.; hours are Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Senior Center will be closed on Labor Day, Sept. 1. Call 781-899-7228 to register for any of the programs and presentations listed below. All events at the Center, unless otherwise noted.

Trips
A foliage trip to Castle in the Clouds and Hart's Turkey Farm in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire is Tuesday, Oct. 7. Lunch is a turkey meal with all the fixing's. Castle in the Clouds is a former country estate. A stop will be made at Apple Hill Farm & Orchards before returning home. The cost is $55, due upon reservation beginning Sept. 3, 9 a.m. The bus departs from Sacred Heart Church at 8:15 a.m., returning around 6 p.m..

Presentations
Turkey dinner and questions for Director Marybeth Duffy Thursday, Sept. 11, noon.
The Senior Center will be hosting an artist reception Friday, Sept. 12, 2 to 4 p.m. Meet the artists from the senior center. Light refreshments
served.
Walgreens pharmacists will talk about demential Monday, Sept. 15, 2:30 p.m. Learn what you can do to help keep your mind young and healthy. Bring a friend.
Samuel L. Blumenfeld talks about his book, ``The Marlowe-Shakespeare Connection,'' on Thursday, Sept. 18, 1 p.m. He will address the long-standing debate over the Shakespeare authorship and the role of Christopher Marlowe. Call to register 781-899-7228.
Learn why it is so important to get your flu shot and some myths about the vaccine Monday, Sept. 29, 2:30 p.m. Bring Medicare Part B card and make your appointment for your flu shot.
A health care options presentation Thursday, Oct. 9, 1 p.m., begins by explaining Original Medicare. It shows how Medigap and Medicare Advantage plans work with Medicare. It also includes an explanation of Medicare Prescription Drug coverage. This seminar makes complex information easy to understand.

Program updates
Senior Bowling League begins Tuesday, Sept. 2, noon, at the Fairway Lanes, Rte. 9, Natick. Cost is $9 per week and includes two strings of bowling and dues. Transportations is own you own. For more information, call Marie Clark at 781-894-1279.
T'ai chi resumes Tuesday, Sept. 9.
Painting starts a new 8-week course Thursday, Sept. 11.
Ballroom dance class begins Monday, Sept. 8. The cost is $30; $40 for non-residents.
A 5-week Basic computer course runs Oct. 22, 29, Nov. 5, 12, and 19. The cost is $30; $40 for non-residents, payable on the first day.
Water exercise winter hours resumes Thursday, Sept. 4. It is back to 10:45 a.m. start time on Thursdays only.
Matter of Balance begins Thursday, Oct. 16, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. This is an 8-week program. Must attend the full session. The goal is to prevent falls by exercising with the instructor, viewing videos, and participating in class discussions. New participants only. Call now to reserve your space.
The MBTA will be coming to the Senior Center on Friday, Oct. 10, to issue Senior Charlie Card ID's and Reduced Fare ID's, more info to follow.

Appreciation party
The Senior Center will be hosting an appreciation party for handyman Dave Snyder and SHINE Councilor Beryl Bingman on Monday, Sept. 8, noon. Their years of service and dedication was greatly appreciated. Light refreshments will be served.

Movies
Friday, Sept. 5, 1 p.m.: ``21'' The inside story of six MIT students who took Vegas for millions to tell the true life tale of six genius students who used their brains to beat considerable odds. This was filmed in Boston.
Friday, Sept. 19, noon and 2 p.m.: ``Charade" (noon) 1963 Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn star in this comedy thriller about a couple who meet in Paris after her husband is murdered. Apparently her husband stole money during the war and the suspense continues as everyone is after her for the money and she does not know who to trust. ``The Producers'' (2 p.m.) We will be showing a repeat performance of this movie since it was showing the day we lost power.
