The wet summer may have ruined some vacation plans and canceled trips to the beach, but Bay State farmers tending apple orchards are looking at a very heavy crop as long as the weather stays pleasant and storms are few and far between.

Newton mayoral candidates challenge each other in NewTV/TAB forum

At Thursday’s NewTV/Newton TAB forum, each mayoral candidate was able to ask each opponent two questions. The candidates – Ruth Balser, Paul Coletti, Ken Parker and Setti Warren –queried each other on specific accomplishments and plans, as well as character issues.

Six Balls. One Dream: Dodgeball Domination. It's the advertising campaign that's sweeping Waltham High School and one that members of the school's sports and entertainment marketing class are hoping will drive interest in their dodgeball tournament on Saturday.

More than 1,000 advocates representing over 100 organizations flooded the State House steps yesterday, spilling onto Beacon Street to stop proposed cuts to programs that help people with developmental disabilities.
