The field for Newton's next mayor is now down to two. Newton voters today decided that state Rep. Ruth B. Balser and Setti Warren will advance to the general election. The winners and losers greeted their supporters tonight in various spots across the city.

Here's a photo gallery looking back at Sen. Edward Kennedy throughout the years, including his many stops throughout MetroWest. He died early this morning at his home in Hyannis Port after battling brain cancer. He was 77.

If good weather prevails, farmers anticipate big apple crop

The wet summer may have ruined some vacation plans and canceled trips to the beach, but Bay State farmers tending apple orchards are looking at a very heavy crop as long as the weather stays pleasant and storms are few and far between.

While figures released yesterday show both home sales and median home prices in the city dipped significantly in June from a year ago, local Realtors say the city's housing market is relatively healthy.
