CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, Strictly Networking series
The Newton-Needham Chamber of Commerce's new quarterly networking series for 2007, Strictly Networking, begins Thursday, Feb. 1, 8 a.m., at Wingate at Needham, 589 Highland Ave., Needham. The networking events will allow attendees to make valuable contacts with a variety of professionals by giving a brief 30 second presentation about their organization at pre-assigned tables. At the conclusion of the program, one business card will be drawn at random for the opportunity to address the entire room. In addition attendees are eligible to win various door prizes including a complimentary "member profile" in the Chamber's monthly newspaper, INBusiness.

TRASH PICKUP, One hour before sunset
Mayor Jeannette A. McCarthy would like to inform the residents that on June 26, 2006, the Waltham City Council amended the language of the City's trash ordinance to include that trash can be placed out for collection one hour before sunset on the day before your trash day.

TEMPLE BETH ISRAEL, Jewish New Year of Trees
Temple Beth Israel, 25 Harvard St., will host its annual Tu B'Shevat Seder (celebrating the Jewish New Year of Trees) on Saturday, Feb. 3, 11:30 a.m., as part of its kiddush lunch immediately following morning services. The seder includes songs, readings, and prayers plus special fruits and nuts connected with the four worlds of the Kabbalistic Tree of Life (the worlds of doing, feeling, knowing, and being). It's designed both to be fun and enlightening, and is intended for adults and children of all ages.
