At 75 years old, Ed Biggins remembers when Moody Street was the crowded, bustling hub of the city.
Moody Street is one of the reasons Money Magazine recently rated Waltham number 72 on its list of best U.S. cites in which to live. But it wasn't always that way.
Moody Street could never have a more perfect name.
Considered by many to be the lifeblood of the city, the street has just as many moods as the residents who know it so well.
"Oh yeah," Waltham resident Steve Jelloe said while sitting outside The Skellig at 240 Moody St. "Moody Street's a moody street all right."
Lifelong resident, city councilor and Moody Street business owner Sarafina "Sally" Collura said Waltham's signature boulevard once held a lofty perch as "the largest shopping mecca outside of downtown Boston."
