Donald and Blanche MacKenzie were feted at home with friends and family on July 26 on the occasion of their 65th wedding anniversary. The party was hosted by their family - Richard and Coral of Waltham, Lester and Sharon of Lexington and Rod of Roswell, Ga. Daughter-in-law Christine and grandchildren, Scott and Jessica MacKenzie, were unavoidably absent and were greatly missed.

Also in attendance were granddaughter Jennifer and her husband, Russell Lebert; grandson Ricky McKenzie, with his wife, Stacie; and granddaughter-in-law, Melissa Meadows; and great-grandchildren Russell Lebert, Lexie Lebert, and 1-year-old Ricky of Winthrop. Nephew Travis Budge of Boulardarie, Nova Scotia, also attended.

Mayor Jeannette McCarthy presented the couple with a proclamation of good wishes on behalf of the City of Waltham. The Rev. Dr. Cederberg of Lexington offered a blessing and short prayer for health and happiness. Mr. Lou Anise of Tewksbury orated two stories on ``life morals,'' which was greatly enjoyed.

They were married in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, on July 26, 1944.
