CM honors
At Catholic Memorial School, the following WALTHAM students were named to the honor roll for the second marking period:
Principal's list: JAMES SCHMIDLEIN, sophomore.
First honors: RICHARD ANDERSON, junior ARAM GUREKIAN, eighth grade; PATRICK O'CONNOR, eighth grade; NOLAN SCHMIDLEIN, eighth grade.
Second honors: CHRISTOPHER BASTARACHE, ninth grade; NICHOLAS COPPOLA, ninth grade; ROBERT FLAHERTY, junior; RYAN HUGHES, sophomore; CHRISTOPHER STATHOPOULOS, eighth grade.

Foley on Endicott dean's list
RYAN FOLEY, son of William and Jacqueline Foley of WALTHAM, was named to the dean's list for the fall 2006 semester at Endicott College. Foley is a senior majoring in sport management.

Stanton on president's list
FRANCIS STANTON III, son of Francis and Darlene Stanton of WALTHAM, was named to the Siena College, Loudonville, N.Y., president's list for the fall 2006 semester. Stanton, a freshman liberal arts major, also participated in a college production of ``Beauty and the Beast.''

Springfield College dean's list
Springfield College has announced the following students were named to the dean's list for the fall 2006 semester: PETER SESSA of NEWTON, JOANNA CASE of NEWTON and GREGOR WALZ of WALTHAM.

Choate dean's list
MARIAN HOMANS-TURNBULL, daughter of Margaret Homans of CHESTNUT HILL, was named to the fall term 2006 dean's list at Choate Rosemary Hall in Wallingford, Conn.

Dyer on Green Mountain honors
ELANA DYER of NEWTON was named to the president's list at Green Mountain College, Poultney, Vt., for the fall 2006 semester.

Centofanti achieves dean's list
ELIZABETH CENTOFANTI of WALTHAM, daughter of Paul and Lisa Centofanti, has been named to the dean's list for the fall 2006 semester at Northeastern University. Centofanti also has been named to the National Field Hockey All-Academic team. She is a junior in the College of Arts and Sciences.

Despres studying overseas
JENNIFER DESPRES , junior, of WALTHAM is participating in St. Lawrence University's International Study Program for the spring semester. Despres, a graduate of Waltham High School, is studying in England.

Bridgewater State dean's list
The following students were named to the dean's list for the fall 2006 semester at Bridgewater State College: WILLIAM CULLEN, STEPHANIE GROSSMAN and ALI DERMARDEROSIAN of NEWTON; CHRISTINA BAKER, MATTHEW HEBERT, ELIZABETH KARAKASHIAN, KATELYN DALLY, CARLENE LINDAHL and ERIC NADEAU of WALTHAM.
CHRISTINA BAKER and ERIC NADEAU also received their undergraduate degrees at winter commencement, Jan. 26.

Wentworth dean's list
At Wentworth Institute of Technology, the following local students were named to the dean's list for the fall 2006 semester: KENNY MUI and DAVID BLOOM of NEWTON; and ARTYOM GORDIYEVSKY and STEVEN KENT of WALTHAM.

BU graduates
Boston University awarded academic degrees to 1,412 students in January 2007. Among the graduates were the following NEWTON residents:
MICHELLE M. STROUT, Ph.D. in Sociology and Social Work; MEREDITH BUTCHER, M.A. in Sociology; HYOSEOK KIM, S.T.M. in Ministry in Church and Society; DEBORAH B. DONG, LL.M. in Graduate Taxation; PAUL S. CROCETTI, M.S. in Journalism; JAMIE A. MICCO, M.A. in Psychology.

Hodge makes honors
WALTHAM resident and sophomore, NOAH HODGE, has been named to the first semester Upper School Headmaster's List at Boston Trinity Academy, located in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Boston. Students who achieve a Grade Point Average of 3.6 or higher qualify for this recognition.
